The Department of Turkish Literature at Bilkent University invites applications for a faculty appointment in Modern Turkish Literature (twentieth and twenty-first centuries). The position is open-rank and applications from junior, mid-career and senior scholars are welcome. Although areas of specialization are open, candidates able to teach graduate seminars with an emphasis on modern Turkish poetry and/or graduate courses that situate modern Turkish literature within global contexts, as well as candidates with a demonstrated experience teaching advanced academic writing courses in both Turkish and English, are particularly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those applicants who can demonstrate excellence in scholarship and teaching and maintain an international research profile, notably through publications in internationally-recognized journals.
