Welcome to the Department of Turkish Literature at Bilkent University’s new and improved website. We hope you find it informative and easy to use. On our new website, you can find out about our MA program, our staff, our events, the resources we offer at Bilkent and information about our past and present students. You can also apply for our MA program through the applications portal.
Visitors to the website will also find out about the Center for Turkish Literature, a research center set up by the Department’s founder Prof. Dr Talat Halman in 1998, which regularly organises talks and seminars at Bilkent University, as well sponsoring research projects in the field of Turkish and Comparative Literature, broadly defined.
This website is also home to the Department’s flagship publication, the Journal of Turkish Literature, which will soon be relaunched and to our blog, TurkishLit, which features contributions, thought pieces and book reviews from staff, students and friends of the Department concerning Turkish Literature, latest translations of Turkish Literature and Comparative Literature in Turkey.
We would also encourage you to follow us on Twitter (@BilkentTurkLit) and Facebook (Bilkent Turkish Literature) to keep up-to-date with our lively department and community.
We are still updating parts of our website and ask for your patience if some pages are still under construction. Our website is currently only in English, however we are working on a Turkish version. Our decision to begin with an English version is to indicate the department’s international outlook. For the time being, you can consult the Turkish version of our old website here. In addition, if you need any clarification on our activities or have any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
