This semester, the Department of Turkish Literature is organizing a number of film screenings for courses that include films on their syllabus.
On Thursday 18th October, we will show Fatih Akın’s Head On/Duvara Karşı/Gegen die Wand for students taking the Fictions of Migration course.
Other film screenings will be announced here, on the events page and through our Twitter and Facebook pages soon, but these films will be Ömer Kavur’s Anayurt Oteli (1987) and Sally Potter’s Orlando (1992) for the Criticism course, and Stephen Frears’ My Beautiful Laundrette (1986) for Fictions of Migration.
All film screenings will take place in Bilkent University Library’s Orientation Room and are required for students taking the course but also open to the general public.
